CCTV footage doing the rounds on social media shows the woman exiting a white BMW in a residential street in Bergbron, Randburg around 20:00 on Saturday.
Moments later, a van pulls up and two men appear. After a brief struggle, the woman is shoved into the back seat of the BMW and both cars leave.
Florida police spokesperson Sergeant Mpho More said: “A case of armed robbery was opened – not hijacking – as they left her in the industrial area with her car.”
“They robbed her of jewellery and a bank card but they failed to withdraw the money,” she added.
